Samuel Sarpong is an energetic and exciting violinist who began playing classical violin at the age of 7. Samuel was born in New Orleans, LA and is a native of Jackson, MS. While his introduction to the violin came at an early age, it was his exposure to music that implanted a deep passion for this melodious instrument. Samuel’s affection for music stemmed from his mother, who played the clarinet, as well as his Ghanaian father, would regularly have African beats and drums playing throughout the house.  Samuel has received many honors, awards, and accolades over the span of his extensive musical career. He has participated in several orchestras and music camps across the country and is now expanding his musical endeavors!  His favorite experiences were performing in Costa Rica with the Mississippi Youth Symphony Orchestra and in Turin, Italy at the Xenia Chamber Music Course. In recent years, Samuel has gravitated toward teaching strings to those who desire to learn how to play. His unique blend of music and passion to perform as a musical artist has allowed him to render melodies of sweet music that soothes the soul!
